About Us
Community & Connection
Mamas Night Out (MNO) is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the well-being of Black Mamas by creating intentional opportunities for rest, social connection, and self-care. We center joy, community, and sisterhood as essential tools for sustaining Black Mamas and strengthening families.

Our Story
Mamas Night Out (MNO) was founded by Tequila R. and Jasmine H. with the mission of creating intentional community and support for mothers, while addressing the impacts of postpartum depression within the African American community.
As a doula for over six years, Tequila served families throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area and beyond. Through her work, she noticed a recurring and deeply concerning pattern—many of her clients were new to the area, lacked nearby family or support systems, and were actively seeking meaningful community during one of the most vulnerable seasons of motherhood. This gap in connection often left mothers feeling isolated, unseen, and unsupported.
Recognizing the need for a dedicated space where mothers could build genuine relationships and receive consistent encouragement, Tequila partnered with Jasmine to bring this vision to life. Together, they created Mamas Night Out as a nonprofit organization committed to fostering connection, rest, and restoration for mothers.
MNO exists to provide mothers with opportunities to pause, exhale, and pour back into themselve, reminding them that they are more than their roles, that their voices matter, and that they deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. Through curated gatherings, shared experiences, and community-centered programming, Mamas Night Out is dedicated to improving maternal well-being and strengthening community bonds, one mama at a time.
